Interview with Kees Rijken

Interview Kees Rijken

Kees Rijken was a successful art director for many years and decided to leave his comfort zone a few years ago. Sometimes you have to change course radically, dare to get off a train to take one of which you do not yet know the destination. His passion is photography and he has established his name in a short time. He prefers to go out with his camera and motorcycle. On the way to unknown places in the world.

How did you get started with photography?

"I've always been interested in making beautiful images. Photography is a logical consequence for me, I also wanted to make the image 100% myself."

"An image you make has to do something to you, otherwise it's just a picture"

How would you describe your style?

"An image you make has to do something to you, otherwise it is no more than a picture,I try to put as much feeling in my images as possible."

What is the most important lesson you have learned from photography?

"Only make images that you really enjoy making, these are often
the images in which others recognize your signature."

What plans do you have for the future?

"Make a lot of what I like and travel a lot."
