Ulas Uygun is an Amsterdam based LGBTQ+ artist, known for his profound storytelling and striking aesthetic in which he blends traditional miniature painting with contemporary portraiture. His work has been exhibited at A’DAM&Co, NDSM Fuse and xMediaArtMuseum, among others. His latest Amsterdam-exhibition Purple Passport aimed at tracing remarkable stories of queer figures from his native Istanbul to Amsterdam. Though not exclusively dedicated to one theme, he typically likes to poke fun at the ever fragile notion of masculinity.
