Frederique Peckelsen is a Frisian photographer who is always looking for the invisible magic of the earth. A sense of mystery, suspense and loneliness come together in her pagan world of bare skies, where humans are only a small part of the greater whole. Frederique has been intrigued by nature and the folktales and myths about nature since childhood. As a child she was convinced that nature reveals itself to us in a different way than it could actually be. As if the world we see is just a version of reality because nature itself and everything in it has a soul of its own. This view of living nature has strongly influenced her photographic style and is still the starting point for her work. It is an eternal search for the Sublime, a search for places where the power of nature can still be felt and you can still feel its magic.
