Charlotte Apituley (1978) is a dutch photographer working solo as a visual artist and as part of photographic duo Apituley & De Schepper as portrait photographer.

Growing up on the dutch countryside, her work is inspired by nature in its beauty, rawness, and sometimes cruelty.
With a background and education in fashion and advertisement, Charlotte has a sharp eye for beauty and warmth but does not hide reality.
After a decade of working as a fashion and wardrobe stylist in tv, film and photography, she picked up her old passion to pursue a career as a photographer.
She graduated cum laude at Fotoacademie Amsterdam in 2017 and published her first book: Tunica.
After being selected as one of the best books of 2017 by newspaper Volkskrant, she took a new step in editing and publishing and launched A&DS photo magazine together with fellow photographer Marijke De Schepper in 2019.

She is currently working on a new solo project.
“A series where I express the difficulty of raising a child that has a different experience of logic. We stay connected on a unique frequency, one that needs no words but a deep and broad feeling of acceptance and understanding. Visually I try to find friction and contrast, and within the struggle see how the misfit is just peerlessly perfect”.
